The anti-Trendelenburg position is like the Trendelenburg position where the bed surface is flat and on an incline, but instead of the feet being elevated above the head, it raises the head above the feet so it is essentially a reverse Trendelenburg.
Accora assist bars are curved metal grab bars that can be placed on one or both sides of the bed to aid independent movement. They are not bed rails but can be used to help residents lever themselves to a sitting position without restricting movement. To ensure our assist bars are not positioned where they could create an entrapment zone, our beds have safety zones to prevent potentially dangerous placement.
Auto-regression refers to a feature on many of our products including beds and chairs. It’s the ability to move from a seated to a fully reclined position (or vice versa) while mimicking the way the human body naturally lengthens and contracts during this movement. For example, as our Empresa bed repositions from a flat surface to a sitting position, the backrest moves backward to reduce patient shear, and guard against pinching that other profiling beds cause.
BodyMove technology is the ability to move through seated and supine positions while maintaining optimum pressure distribution. This Accora technology is enabled through combined auto-regression of profiling sections such as the backrest and the leg rest that helps reduce average pressure over the sacral area by 23%, compared to a standard nursing bed.
Our easy-to-use ClickLock bracket on the Accora Configura chair makes it easy to adjust the chair dimensions and position backrest cushions. No need to get the toolkit out or wait for the maintenance team to modify the chair.
Our signature FloorBed technology enables caregivers to lower the resident to the lowest platform level currently available on the market so they can get a good night’s rest without worrying about sustaining injuries from bed falls. When combined with our even-plane safety mats our FloorBeds create an even larger sleeping surface, effectively transforming unplanned bed exits from falls into rolls.
The Accora safety mats are the same height as our FloorBeds with a 6-inch foam mattress, so there’s no change of plane if a resident rolls off the bed onto the mat. Using FloorBeds with our high safety mats is proven to be effective at preventing falls and fall-related injuries.
All our handsets are designed to be user-friendly, but they also have a lockout feature to prevent unintentional or unsafe use of the equipment by the resident.
This feature with the Accora Configura chair offers the ability to tilt the user in space which can provide superior postural support compared to backrest recline alone. Tilt-in-space means keeping the existing seat-to-back angle but tilting the chair backward with a range between 0-37 degrees for the resident.
One of the 4 pre-programmed positions on Accora beds, this position elevates the feet up to 15 degrees above the head on a flat incline. The Trendelenburg is a care position commonly used by care professionals to harness the natural impact of gravity on the body.
